The aroma is lively and inviting, with a fresh bouquet reminiscent of ripe citrus fruits, juicy peaches, and a hint of blossom. On the palate, the wine truly comes to life. Its flavor profile is fresh and fruit-driven, featuring notes of green apple, apricot, and peach. Delicate herbal accents add depth, while the well-balanced acidity provides a refreshing and elegant tasting experience. The texture is smooth and silky, with a long, harmonious finish. Sopho’s Rkatsiteli Mtsvane is remarkably versatile at the table. This wine pairs wonderfully with light and fresh dishes such as shellfish, grilled fish, summer salads, and soft cheeses. It also complements pasta with subtle sauces beautifully. Ideal for sunny days and convivial moments in good company. For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to serve the wine lightly chilled, at a temperature between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius. This ensures that the delicate aromas and vibrant freshness remain perfectly balanced.
Deep in the enchanting wine region of Kakheti, in the renowned Mukuzani microzone, lies Sopho’s Wine House – a unique wine project born from the shared dream of Sofia and Yvo, a Georgian-Dutch couple. In this special location, they not only acquired a vineyard but also lovingly restored a characterful house. Under their care, it transformed into a place where tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation come together. Their first harvest was vinified in modern stainless steel tanks, with respect for classical methods. But soon they decided to fully dedicate themselves to the centuries-old Georgian wine culture by installing qvevris – large earthenware amphorae – in their new wine cellar. This transition led to the creation of authentic wines such as the Rkatsiteli Qvevri and Saperavi Qvevri, in which the true character of the grape fully comes into its own. The quality of their work did not go unnoticed. During the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition in Georgia, their second harvest was awarded four bronze medals. At the leading Wine Expo in Tbilisi, they also won three prizes, including a special distinction from professional sommeliers – a recognition of their dedication and expertise. At Sopho’s Wine House, everything revolves around purity, craftsmanship, and reverence for the land. Their wines are an ode to the rich soil of Kakheti and invite tasters to experience the deep, complex character of Georgian wine. Each glass tells a story of devotion, tradition, and love for the craft.
