In het glas presenteert Shinobu Pure Malt een mooie amberkleur met gouden reflecties. Bij de neus biedt de whisky een heerlijke combinatie van vanille, pruimen en munt. Op de tong is hij licht zoet maar gekruid, met hints van vanille, citrus en gerookt eiken. De mediumlange, zoete afdronk draagt tonen van munt en een lichte bitterheid, waardoor een aangename en langdurige nasmaak ontstaat.
Serveer de whisky het beste op 18-22°C, zodat de aromatische complexiteit volledig tot zijn recht komt. Het gaat uitstekend samen met gegrilde vis, zoals makreel of zalm, evenals met miso-gerechten. Voor een perfecte dessertcombinatie, geniet ervan bij een honing-almondcake of een donkere chocoladefondue.
