Zorah finds its origins in the vision of Zorik Gharibian, an Armenian whose academic path led him through the streets of Venice and the fashion world of Milan before he discovered his passion for wine. Despite his success in the fashion industry, Gharibian felt a deep connection to his heritage and an irresistible urge for wine. In the early 2000s, he decided to change course and return to his roots. In the picturesque village of Rind, amidst majestic mountains and under a radiant sun, he planted his first vineyards, located in the heart of Yeghegnadzor, the epicenter of Armenian winemaking. Here, he focused entirely on creating wines that combine modern flair with deeply rooted traditions. The vast, ungrafted vineyards of Zorah stretch over 40 hectares on rocky, limestone soils. Here, carefully selected native grape varieties thrive, sourced from abandoned vineyards in the shadow of a 13th-century monastery. The climate in this area is characterized by long, dry summers with intense sunshine and high temperatures, followed by cool nights, resulting in a long growing season that extends well into October.
