Discover the rich tradition of Georgian wine with the Koncho Kisi Qvevri, a beautiful wine that originates from the Kakheti region, located in the east of Georgia. This wine is made from the Kisi grape, one of the most respected white grape varieties in Georgia, known for its sturdiness, high acidity, and impressive aromatic complexity. What makes the Koncho Kisi Qvevri so special is the traditional winemaking process in a qvevri. These large clay pots, which are buried in the ground to regulate temperature, are an essential part of Georgian wine culture. The grapes are lightly crushed and then undergo spontaneous fermentation in the qvevri, without the addition of yeast or temperature control. This results in an authentic and pure taste, allowing nature to take its course. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for another 4 to 5 months in the qvevri, followed by aging for 9 to 12 months in used large wooden barrels. This aging process gives the wine more complexity and creates a beautiful balance between fruitiness and wood notes. The alcohol content of the Koncho Kisi Qvevri is 13.5%, which is typical for wines of this quality and aging method. The alcohol content provides a nice balance with the rich flavors and the fresh acidity of the wine. Experience the rich tradition and unique character of Georgia with the Koncho Kisi Qvevri – a wine that reflects the essence of the Kakheti region in every sip.

Koncho Kisi Qvevri has an elegant amber color, characteristic of wines fermented in the traditional qvevri. The aroma is rich and inviting, with prominent scents of candied fruit, dried apricots, and subtle hints of tropical fruit. With the first sip, the wine unfolds with a soft and round texture, where dried tropical fruit, orange peel, melon, ripe apples, and a touch of hazelnut are perfectly balanced. The wine has no harsh tannins, which contributes to a smooth and enjoyable drinking experience. Thanks to its versatility, Koncho Kisi Qvevri pairs excellently with a variety of dishes. For example, grilled meats like lamb or chicken, whose rich flavors pair beautifully with the depth of the wine. Creamy cheeses such as brie or goat cheese are also a perfect complement to the wine's soft structure. For seafood lovers, pairing it with grilled salmon or cod is ideal, as the wine's fresh acidity enhances the flavors of the fish. Additionally, Koncho Kisi is a great match with Asian dishes, such as grilled vegetables or dishes with a subtle spice blend, which accentuate the complex flavor of the wine. For the best experience, we recommend serving Koncho Kisi Qvevri at a temperature of 10-12°C, so the aroma and flavors can shine.

Koncho and Company LLC was founded on September 18, 2001, by JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli and has deep historical roots in Georgian wine culture. The company is dedicated to producing and selling wines of the highest quality. The name "Koncho" originates from the Old Georgian word for "cross" and also forms the basis of the family name Konchoshvili. This family has a rich tradition in winemaking dating back to 1737, when Kakhaber Konchoshvili, the royal winemaker of King Teimuraz II of Kakheti, established a wine cellar. Here, traditional Kakhetian wines and chacha, a Georgian brandy, were produced. The family’s wine cellar remained operational until the end of the 20th century, initially in the village of Sabue and later in Kvareli. The establishment of Koncho and Company LLC marked a continuation of this centuries-old tradition, with the mission of preserving authentic Georgian wine culture and offering high-quality wines to enthusiasts worldwide. The company owns some of the best vineyards in the classic microzones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli. These vineyards are located on fertile land where the Duruji River once flowed. The presence of black slate and a high concentration of carbonates at a depth of 8-10 meters below the surface give Koncho and Company’s wines a unique character and distinctive taste that set them apart within the Georgian wine world.
