The Dakishvili Family Selection Kisi is an exquisite amber wine from the famous wine region of Kakheti, located in the eastern part of Georgia. This region is globally renowned for its rich winemaking tradition, which dates back thousands of years. This delightful wine is made from the indigenous Kisi grape, a variety that originates in Georgia and is particularly well-suited for the unique wines the region has to offer. The grape imparts the wine with its characteristic rich flavors and aromas. The grapes come from old vineyards in the Akhmeta region, planted by Giorgi Dakishvili's great-grandfather in the 1930s. The grapes grow on well-drained clay soils, which contribute to the wine's complexity. After harvest, the grapes are fermented in Qvevri, traditional clay fermentation vessels that have been used in Georgia for centuries. This method, which ensures prolonged contact with the skins, contributes to the wine’s amber color and gives it its rich flavor and texture. The wine matures for six months in the Qvevri, providing a deep, robust flavor that perfectly showcases the characteristics of the Kisi grape. With an alcohol content of 13%, this wine is not too heavy but has enough body to pair well with a variety of dishes.

The Dakishvili Family Selection Kisi has a striking copper-gold color that is typical of amber wines. The nose reveals aromas of dried apricot, almond, and sweet spices, indicating the wine's complex fragrance. On the palate, a rich array of orange peel, apricot, and the bold, characteristic papaya flavors of the Kisi grape unfold. The wine also features a soft and delicate honey-like finish, perfectly rounding out its flavor profile. It is a versatile wine that pairs excellently with a variety of dishes. Due to its rich and complex flavor, this amber wine is ideal with grilled lamb, steak, and a cheese platter. It also pairs well with umami-rich dishes such as sushi or smoked fish, enhancing the flavors of the wine and elevating the dishes. To fully enjoy the Dakishvili Family Selection Kisi, it is recommended to serve the wine at a temperature of 10-12°C. This ensures that the aromas and flavors can develop fully.
