Vina Carić Cesarica 2020
In the glass, this impressive wine presents itself in a light straw-yellow color, accompanied by attractive fruity and floral aromas. Upon the first sip, you immediately experience the yellow fruit, with nuances of apricot, peach, quince, and ripe citrus fruits. The finish is pleasant and medium, with a subtle hint of marzipan. If you plan to serve Vina Carić Cesarica with dishes, we recommend a delicious white cheese. Although this pairing may seem surprising at first, it turns out to be an excellent match. Additionally, Cesarica pairs perfectly with poultry or seafood risotto. To fully enjoy Vina Carić Cesarica, it is advisable to serve the wine at a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius. This ensures that the aromas and flavors are fully expressed.
The small-scale winery called Vina Carić (Tsaritsj) is located on the island of Hvar, in the Adriatic Sea, and has only 5 hectares of its own vineyards. The grapes are also sourced from other local winegrowers. The winery mainly focuses on the Bogdanuša and Plavac Mali grape varieties. Ivo Carić is the owner, an ingenious winemaker who is very creative in making exciting blends. He combines these wonderful grapes to create an excellent quality final product. A beautiful example of this is Vina Carić Cesarica. A unique Dalmatian Cuvée called Cesarica (Tsésárietsá—translated as queen or empress) is recognized as the empress among the white wines from the island of Hvar. This is, of course, no surprise, as this wine won the gold medal at the Balkans International Wine Competition.
