Vaziani Rkatsiteli 2022
Vaziani Rkatsiteli features a golden yellow color and intriguing aromas. This wine will pamper you with an inviting bouquet of tropical fruits, where delicate ripe pears, juicy melon and exotic lychees come together on your taste buds. This is a light yet refined wine with a perfectly balanced acidity and a lingering aftertaste.
It is paired beautifully with grilled fish, shellfish, or light pasta dishes. The fresh taste of the wine harmoniously complements dishes with a hint of lemon and spicy herbs. It is also an excellent choice with soft cheeses or as an aperitif.
To reveal the full flavor and aromas of this beautiful wine, we recommend serving it at a temperature of about 10-12°C. Make sure not to serve the wine too cold, so that you can fully appreciate all the subtleties of the flavors.
Vaziani was founded in 1982 and underwent a modern transformation in 2012. During this transformation, the factory was equipped with state-of-the-art Italian equipment and tanks made of non-corrosive metal. It is a unique company with an integrated production process, which starts with careful grape selection and ends with the creation of a final product that fully complies with international standards such as ISO22000:2018. The production of qvevri wines at Makashvili Wine Cellar has deep roots in the family of Prince Makashvili. The company, founded by the descendants of this family, has built a strong reputation by producing qvevri wines that exceed the highest standards for connoisseurs and sophisticated wine lovers. These efforts have resulted in numerous prestigious international awards and distinctions for their wines.
The traditional qvevri winemaking method, which is over 8,000 years old, is still practiced with passion. Vaziani Winery is a worthy guardian of this rich cultural and historical tradition. Makashvili Wine Cellar, part of Vaziani, has its origins in the Makashvili family estate from the second half of the 15th century. The cellar houses qvevri barrels that are over 120 years old and were discovered under the ground of Vaziani Winery during the restoration in 2012. Of the approximately 200 qvevri barrels found, only 39 could be saved from damage. The wines are made with care and dedication according to the traditional qvevri method and are produced in limited quantities, which has contributed to their worldwide recognition.
