For the best experience, serve the Karas Sweet Muscat at a cool temperature of 8-10°C. When storing the wine, it is best to place it in a spot between 5 and 20°C, with a humidity level up to 85%. Whether it's a festive moment or a relaxed gathering, Karas Sweet Muscat brings the rich Armenian tradition to every occasion and makes each toast special.
Karas Wines is praised as the leading winery in Armenia, strategically located in the picturesque Ararat Valley, with the majestic Mount Ararat as its unmistakable backdrop. The winery is owned by the Eurnekian family and combines a rich heritage, a strong focus on sustainability, and deep winemaking knowledge. The name "Karas," which means "amphora" in Armenian, is a tribute to the ancient clay vessels that have been central to local wine production for over 6,000 years. Although Armenia has a long winemaking tradition dating back thousands of years, the shift to modern production methods was initially slow. However, this changed with the establishment of Karas Wines. The renewal within the winery began with the appointment of a skilled winemaker from Mendoza, Argentina, who led the transformation of production methods. Subsequently, the renowned wine consultant Michel Roland was involved, resulting in the fusion of ancient techniques with innovative methods. This marked the beginning of a new chapter for Armenian viticulture. Since its founding in 2003, Karas Wines has carefully selected vineyards near Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, under the impressive Mount Ararat. The vineyards thrive on the fertile, black volcanic soil of the region, located at altitudes ranging from 400 to 1,100 meters, providing ideal conditions for growing top-quality grapes. The climate in the Ararat Valley, with hot summers and cold, dry winters, also contributes to creating the perfect environment for the vines. Karas is committed to making wines that both respect Armenia's rich winemaking heritage and meet modern taste preferences. Due to the abundant sunshine and the characteristic volcanic soil, the grapes develop a unique flavor profile that perfectly reflects the exceptional terroir of Armenia in every bottle.
