The Gašper Salpa is a refined white wine from Slovenia that reflects the flavors of nature. This wine comes from the prestigious Goriska Brda, a region in the western part of Slovenia, bordering Italy. Goriska Brda is known for its ideal climate and diverse soil types, which are perfect for growing vines and creating wines of exceptional quality. The Salpa is a beautiful example of the local wine tradition and the exceptional terroir of this region. This elegant wine is a blend of three carefully selected grape varieties: 34% Chardonnay, 34% Sauvignon Vert, and 32% Rebula (also known as Ribolla Gialla). The grapes are handpicked from the terraces of Goriska Brda, where the sun’s rays meet refreshing mountain air to promote perfect ripening. The result is a wine that exudes the complexity and finesse of this unique region. The Gašper Salpa is fermented in stainless steel tanks, with the temperature carefully controlled at 14 degrees Celsius. This technique helps preserve the freshness of the wine and highlights its delicate floral and fruity aromas. Since there is no aging in oak, the taste remains pure and clear, with a perfect balance between the various flavors. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, the wine offers a soft, yet refined experience. This white wine offers a unique opportunity to experience the quality of Slovenian viticulture and enjoy a taste that is both elegant and refreshing.

The Gašper Salpa has a bright, light yellow color with a refined green undertone, which is typical for wines made from the mentioned grape varieties. This light hue reveals the fresh and vibrant taste the wine has to offer. Upon tasting, refreshing aromas of citrus, green apple, and tropical fruit unfold, complemented by subtle floral accents. On the palate, the wine feels wonderfully refreshing, with a lively acidity that keeps the flavors beautifully balanced. The wine has an elegant structure and a subtle minerality, characteristics typical of the soil of Goriska Brda. The finish is clean and refreshing, making the Gašper Salpa an excellent choice for various occasions.
This versatile wine pairs well with a variety of dishes. Due to its fresh and light flavor, it is perfect for pairing with fish dishes, light vegetables, white meats, and soft cheeses. The fresh, versatile taste makes the Gašper Salpa suitable for both a casual lunch and a formal dinner. To fully experience the fresh notes and delicate aromas, it is recommended to serve the wine at a temperature between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius. This serving temperature ensures that the wine retains its lively character and that the subtle flavor nuances are highlighted at their best.

From a young age, Gašper Čarman has been deeply intertwined with the world of wine and gastronomy. Raised in the family business, the restaurant and wine shop Danilo – gostilna & vinoteka in Reteče, he developed a natural passion for everything related to wine. However, his journey in the wine world truly began in 2004 when he decided to venture into wine sales as an independent entrepreneur. What started as a small project from his garage quickly grew into a successful online wine shop and a thriving distribution business for both private and corporate clients.
With his impressive knowledge and experience, Gašper was awarded the title of Best Sommelier of Slovenia in 2013, and repeated this success in 2015. He also completed the prestigious WSET Level 4 diploma and is currently pursuing the advanced Master of Wine program. For Gašper, learning never stops; after 14 years in the wine industry, he continues to seek new discoveries and insights.
In 2013, Gašper founded his own wine brand: Gasper Wines. The philosophy behind this brand is simple yet powerful: wine is about the experience in the glass. It's not just about the story behind the wine, but the impression a wine leaves with the first sip. This approach formed the foundation for the creation of Gasper Wines. Together with Klet Goriška Brda, one of the largest wine cooperatives in Slovenia, Gašper crafted wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Goriška Brda terroir. Thanks to this collaboration, Gasper Wines has found its way to an ever-growing audience, both in Slovenia and globally.
