Château Kefraya Special Cuvée Amphora, similar to the Millesima Special, is a distinctive wine from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, the country's primary wine-producing region. This unique cuvée is a blend of Carignan, Cinsault, Syrah, and Tempranillo grapes and is aged in traditional clay amphorae, a winemaking technique once used by the Phoenicians, the ancient inhabitants of Lebanon. The use of these clay pots imparts complexity to the wine, enhancing its flavors and character. This wine features 14% abv. What makes this wine particularly special is its excellent aging potential; when stored in optimal conditions, it can continue to evolve and mature for over 10 years.

Château Kefraya Special Cuvée Amphora has a beautiful ruby red color with purple reflections. The aroma is rich, with notes of sandalwood, smoke, curry, and leather, combined with subtle hints of violets, gooseberries, ripe red fruits, and pepper. The taste is complex with silky tannins, spicy notes, bitter almonds, black cherries, and quince. The finish is long, with red fruit and cinnamon clearly noticeable.
Special Cuvée pairs beautifully with spicy dishes, game, and lamb roast. Chill the wine for 30 minutes before serving and decant.
Het is het beste te serveren op een temperatuur van 16-18°C om de smaken te versterken.

Château Kefraya is located in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon’s leading wine region, at an elevation of 1000 meters above sea level. Known for its fertile soil since Phoenician times, this area is perfect for grape cultivation. The vines grow in sun-soaked, non-irrigated vineyards, with soil rich in clay-limestone, chalk, sand, and gravel. The region’s moderate climate, with significant temperature shifts between day and night, allows the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly, resulting in wines of exceptional quality.
