The vineyards of Chateau Kefraya extend across the slopes of the Bekaa Valley, 1000 meters above the Mediterranean Sea. The soil is rich in gravel, chalk, as well as sand and clay-limestone. The vines are not irrigated and grow in sun-drenched vineyards. The temperature differences between day and night ensure the perfect ripening of the grapes.
In addition to the diverse soils, Chateau Kefraya uses a wide range of grape varieties in its blends, including Muscat à Petits Grains, Marselan, Carménère, Chardonnay, Viognier, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Chateau Kefraya also grows native varieties such as Obeidi, Merwah, and Mekssessé (white grapes) and revives ancient Lebanese red grapes like Asmi Noir and Assouad Karech. A large part of the vineyard is certified organic. All wines from the winery are vegan. A sustainable viticulture policy allows the vines to flourish, respecting the expression of the terroir.
