The large estate of Château Kefraya is located in the West Bekaa Valley, which has been the property of the Bustros family for generations. The castle was built from 1946 onwards on an artificial hill that was used centuries ago by the Romans to observe their troop movements.
The first vines were planted in 1951 and in 1979. Despite the Lebanese civil war between 1975-1990, the family managed to produce quality wine with their own grapes from their own vineyards. In 1982 and 1983, “Les Coteaux de Kefraya” wines won the first international medals and Château Kefraya began to export its wines to France.
In 1997, the American wine critic Robert Parker awarded “Comte de M 1996” 91 out of 100 points and qualified it as “A great achievement in Lebanon”.
Today, Château Kefraya is present in more than 40 countries on the five continents.
