SHIN Pure Malt Whisky Mizunara Oak Finish embodies the refined art of Japanese whisky. This exclusive release comes from the Shinobu Distillery in Niigata, a region renowned for its crystal-clear water, tranquil natural surroundings, and deeply rooted artisanal traditions. Under the guidance of master blender Ken Usami, a selection of carefully chosen malt whiskies is brought together to create a balanced and elegant expression that reflects the subtlety of Japanese craftsmanship. The name “Shin,” meaning “integrity,” reflects the philosophy of the whisky and alludes to values from the samurai culture. What makes this whisky truly special is its finishing in casks made of rare Mizunara oak. This Japanese oak is celebrated for its distinctive aromas of sandalwood, incense, and delicate spices, which impart a unique depth and complexity to the whisky. SHIN Pure Malt is non-chill filtered and contains no artificial coloring, preserving the full purity of the distillate. With an alcohol content of 48%, this whisky offers a full, rich body while remaining elegant and refined. It is a perfect embodiment of Japanese precision, patience, and craftsmanship in every sip.

In the glass, SHIN Pure Malt Whisky Mizunara Oak Finish presents itself in a rich golden hue, with subtle amber highlights that invite exploration. The aroma is refined and complex: a gentle blend of honey and chocolate intertwined with delicate woody notes characteristic of Mizunara oak. On the palate, flavors of creamy vanilla and distinctive sandalwood unfold, complemented by hints of sweet spices, a touch of hazelnut, and a light, elegant spiciness. The finish is long and sophisticated, as the soft, incense-like character gradually fades, leaving a curiosity for the next sip. This whisky pairs perfectly with dark chocolate, refined desserts, or mild cheeses, but it also complements roasted meats and savory, umami-rich Japanese dishes beautifully. As a digestif after a leisurely meal, it offers a moment of calm and reflection. For the best experience, it is recommended to serve the whisky at 18–22°C, either neat or with a few drops of water to fully bring out its aromas.
