The Daniel Bouju Grande Champagne Réserve 700ml is a characterful cognac from the picturesque village of Saint-Preuil, located in the heart of the Cognac region in France. For this exceptional expression, the house of Daniel Bouju uses a selection of traditional grape varieties, including Ugni Blanc, Folle Blanche, and Colombard, which together create an elegant and complex base. After distillation, the cognac is aged for a long period in new French oak barrels. This careful maturation contributes to the depth, structure, and refinement for which Daniel Bouju cognacs are renowned. With an alcohol content of 40%, this Premier Cru de Cognac reflects the authentic style and craftsmanship of the house, which is internationally appreciated for its high-quality Grande Champagne cognacs.

The cognac has a beautiful, natural amber colour that reflects careful craftsmanship and the character of its terroir. In the glass, it immediately releases soft and full aromas, with notes of leather, tobacco, and vanilla, complemented by dried fruit and the distinctive Charentaise rancio, which develops through long ageing in the cellars of Grande Champagne and adds a complex, nutty depth. This cognac is best enjoyed as a digestif after a meal and pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, aged cheeses, or a cigar. It is ideally served at room temperature (18–20°C), allowing all aromas to fully open and ensuring the nose and finish can be appreciated at their best.

The origins of Daniel Bouju date back to 1805, when the Allard and Chauvin families established the estate in the idyllic village of Saint-Preuil, located in the heart of Grande Champagne. This region is regarded as the most prestigious cru in the Cognac area and is known for producing eaux-de-vie with refined structure, a long finish, and an elegant, floral aromatic profile. The ageing process takes place slowly in oak barrels, allowing the distillates to gradually develop their full maturity and complexity over time. Only cognacs originating from this exceptional cru are entitled to carry the protected designations of origin “Cognac Grande Champagne” or “Cognac Grande Fine Champagne,” confirming their exclusive provenance and quality.
