In the heart of Armenia, under the watchful eye of the majestic Mount Ararat, a young and highly innovative winery is flourishing: Karas Wines. This venture has dared to dream and innovate in a country with an ancient winemaking history. Although Armenia is one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world, it lacked the knowledge to create modern wines despite its fertile soil. Karas Wines changed this. Their success was found in a talented Argentine winemaker from Mendoza, who was brought to Armenia specifically to revolutionize the winemaking process. Additionally, they enlisted the expertise of Michel Rolland, a world-renowned wine consultant. Thanks to these experts and their innovative approach, Karas Wines has ushered in a new era in the Armenian wine industry.
Founded in 2003, Karas Wines began by carefully selecting the ideal locations for their vineyards, situated near the Armenian capital of Yerevan, at the foot of the majestic Ararat. Here, they found fertile volcanic soil and the perfect elevations, ranging from 400 to 1100 meters, to grow grapes of exceptional quality. Driven by a deep passion for crafting outstanding wines, Karas Wines strives to produce wines that both reflect the rich history of Armenia and meet modern taste preferences. Their vineyards, bathed in sunlight and nourished by fertile volcanic soil, yield grapes of the highest quality.
