Discover the enchanting village of Voskevaz, located in the heart of the wine region northwest of Yerevan, Armenia. The name Voskevaz, meaning "golden cluster," refers to the deep-rooted tradition of winemaking in this region. With an elevation of at least 950 meters, the Aragatsotn region provides the ideal conditions for viticulture, with warm sunny days and cool nights. During the Soviet era, the winery was known as the "Voskevaz Wine Cellar" and specialized in fortified wines. It was a leading producer in the small republic and supplied the Soviet Union with high-quality wines. In 2004, the winery was privatized and taken over by Armenian investor David Hovhannisyan, who transformed it into Voskevaz and focused on producing quality wines. The winery still retains some features of the cooperative style that was typical of large Russian wineries from the Soviet era. Voskevaz is possibly the oldest established winery in modern Armenia and has a rich history in wine production. With a more qualitative approach and a wide range of wines, Voskevaz has established itself as a key player in the Armenian wine industry.
