Chateau Musar is located in an area where winemaking has been practiced for over 6000 years: the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. The winery's 180 hectares of vineyards are situated about 30 kilometers south of Beirut, nestled between two mountain ranges. The red grape varieties grow at around 1000 meters in altitude, while the white ones are grown at approximately 1500 meters. The vines are rooted in stony soils with limestone and gravel.

The climate is hot, sunny, and dry, with refreshing mountain winds and cold nights. This is ideal for the grapes, allowing them to ripen slowly and healthily while developing fresh acidity. It’s a perfect location for environmentally-friendly viticulture; Chateau Musar was Lebanon's first certified organic winery. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented naturally. The wines are left unfiltered, and the amount of added sulfites is minimal.
