Château Ksara Le Prieuré is a remarkable Lebanese red wine crafted in the lush Bekaa Valley. Produced from grapes that trace back to the origins of Château Ksara, it is fermented in the original concrete tanks built by the Jesuits. This wine is a blend of Cinsault, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Caladoc grapes. The grapes are carefully hand-picked, harvested, and destemmed. The Cinsault undergoes a short vatting process to preserve its freshness, while the Caladoc and Mourvèdre are left for a longer period to extract rich aromas and spices. The Carignan, on the other hand, undergoes extended skin contact to enhance its complexity and elegance. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in concrete tanks for 14 to 18 months before being blended. With an ABV of 13.5%, it is celebrated as one of Lebanon’s finest wines, having earned prestigious accolades, including a gold medal in Berlin, confirming its exceptional quality.

The wine presents a deep ruby color, with aromas and flavors of black and red fruits, spices, licorice, and garrigue. To fully showcase its complexities, it is best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 17–19°C. This wine pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, including cheese, salads, cold meats, stews, pies, and mezze.

Château Ksara, Lebanon’s oldest winery founded by Jesuits, is renowned for producing a wide variety of red, white, and rosé wines. The winery blends French grape varieties with indigenous Lebanese grapes to capture the unique terroir of the Bekaa Valley. Situated at an elevation of one kilometer above sea level, the vineyards benefit from a natural water table and a temperature variation of around 15°C between hot summer days and cool evenings. The region receives 600–700 mm of rainfall annually, mostly in autumn and winter, with dry summers that reduce the risk of disease. Château Ksara avoids pesticides and herbicides, practicing nearly organic farming. The soil, composed of chalk, clay, and limestone, is consistently stony, contributing to the quality and distinctiveness of its wines.
