Casa Agrícola Marmelar Tinto is an exclusive Portuguese red wine from the renowned Alentejo wine region. This rich and full-bodied wine is a carefully crafted blend of Alicante Bouschet, Petite Syrah, and Petit Verdot grapes. Thanks to the unique combination of these grape varieties, the wine offers a deep, complex flavor experience with notes of ripe red fruit, spices, and subtle hints of oak. The grapes are hand-picked, contributing to the wine's exceptional quality. Casa Agrícola Marmelar Tinto then matures for 12 months in French oak barrels, resulting in refined tannins and an elegant, well-balanced structure. With an alcohol content of 14%, this wine boasts a full body and a long, silky finish. Casa Agrícola Marmelar Tinto is an excellent choice for lovers of characterful wines with refined oak aging.

Casa Agrícola Marmelar Tinto is a wine that immediately impresses with its deep ruby-red color. From the first sip, this wine reveals a harmonious combination of elegance and character, where structure and freshness are subtly balanced. The mouthfeel is full and layered, with perfectly integrated acidity and fine, velvety tannins that contribute to an exceptional smoothness. The flavor development is particularly captivating: the wine opens with an intense, rich, and complex attack, followed by refined notes of rosemary and subtle hints of mint and balsamic, adding a delicate spiciness. The finish is extraordinarily long and persistent. Casa Agrícola Marmelar Tinto is a versatile wine that pairs beautifully with various culinary dishes. It is a perfect match for soft cheeses, where the creamy texture harmonizes wonderfully with the wine’s elegant tannins. Additionally, it pairs excellently with long-aged Iberian ham. This wine also enhances the flavors of roasted lamb, slowly cooked in an earthen pot, creating a sublime taste experience. For red meat lovers, an entrecôte with pepper sauce is an outstanding choice. For the optimal tasting experience, it is recommended to serve the wine at a temperature between 17ºC and 18ºC.

The first vineyard of the Herdade was planted in 1989, with the first harvest taking place in 1992 and released under the Vidigueira brand. Later, the brands Pousio and Quatro Caminhos were introduced, followed more recently by the Marmelar brand. In recent years, the winery has been expanded and restructured, now covering a total of 43 hectares. The white grape varieties (Alvarinho, Antão Vaz, Arinto, Roupeiro, and Verdelho) occupy one-third of the vineyard's total area, while the red grape varieties (Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Baga, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Touriga Nacional, and Trincadeira) occupy the remaining two-thirds. During abundant production years, the Herdade produces nearly 400,000 bottles of white, red, and rosé wine.
